Wow! We're a fountain of comic books!
Nodwick 32 should be in fine comic shops everywhere this week or next! It'll be available here later this month, as soon as I get my copies. And ps238 #16 is headed to press soon! And did I mention "Truth, Justin and the American Way" issue #2 was just turned in for publication? It's just raining comics 'round these parts, and I'm not letting up!
And let's not just discuss MY comics. Girl Genius Volume #4 is out in softcover! You owe it to yourself to pick it up, bring it home, slap it on that slab in the north tower, and bring it to life during the next thunderstorm! Seriously, this is the comic that both Cristi and I love, and I think it frustrates her even more than my own comics; apparently, the Foglios need to write/draw/color faster... :)
On a completely different topic: Computer mice. I love the design and feel of the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer. The guts of it, however, stink. Our household has gone through at least four of the things, and in each case the left mouse button began to fail in about six months. Again, we LOVE the design and feel of these mice. I've just never had a Microsoft mouse of any kind go kaput so regularly. So, I'm giving the Logitech LX7 cordless mouse a whirl. So far, so good. I wish it fit my hand better (the Intellimouse was a larger physical object), but being able to remove the mouse from my WACOM tablet without a cord getting in the way is a plus.
A few weeks ago, I blogged about the Wheel of Time series. Imagine my surprise when I find out that there was a Wheel of Time first-person shooter game! It was picked in 2003 as one of the most underrated games of all time, and it sounds like real fun! I'm a big fan of plot-based FPS games (Half-Life, anyone?) and this one sounds like a doozy. Plus, for us cheapskates, it's bargain-bin priced and it uses the Quake III engine (which is nice and gentle on creaky old graphics cards in creaky old 4X AGP slots). So grab your terangreal and head for the nearest discount software outlet!
And speaking of video games, while I wasn't able to make it to E3 this year, I came across this promo film for the PS3. It looks great. Phenomenal, in fact. So can we PLEASE drop the price of the PS2 under a hundred bucks? This cheapskate wants Karaoke and Guitar Hero. :)
The Return of the Linking:
- English spelling makes no sense. These poems prove it, and amuse while they're at it.
- While the first laptop in this stress test doesn't make it, the second has a feature I wouldn't mind for my fine china. Gravity, she is a harsh mistress...
- They Might Be Giants videos! Birdhouse in Your Soul, Ana Ng, and the Tiny Toons version of Particle Man! And the last one is an eye-pleasing animated festival of TMBG-ness, Bastard Wants to Hit Me! Anyone know the animator?
- How about some future ultraviolence with space orcs? Warhammer in CGI! Mind the little ones as it's on the bloody side.
- Hapland 3. Don't ask me how to solve this one; It kicked my butt.
- Need to stop someone from talking on the phone so much? Get the Phish Phone. Sure, a few of our finny friends might become soup, but think of the rollover minutes!
